The general perception that the superstars are gunning for him and he stood up to them has made Thilakan a hero in the eyes of the commoner.
Meanwhile Thilakan got a big boost when Sohan Roy, director of Dam 999, paid him a handsome compensation of Rs 7 lakhs for removing him from the cast of the film, after he was suspended from AMMA.
Thilakan also hinted at reconciliation with AMMA, if they were willing to remove his suspension and bring him back on his terms.
Suddenly AMMA too went soft on Thiakan as there is no point in continuing the fight where they will be projected in bad light. Mohanlal, AMMA General Secretary went out of his way to extend the olive branch and make peace with the veteran actor.
Said Mohanlal: " We want Thilakan back in our fold as we are trying to sort out the issue in a friendly manner."
