Karikkakathamma Award, instituted by the Karikkakam Sri Chamundi Temple Trust, will be presented to legendary playback singer K.J. Yesudas, office-bearers of the trust told a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday.
Yesudas was selected for the award for his contribution to the world of music. The award consists of a purse of Rs. 10,001, a citation and a statuette. The award will be given away at a meeting to be held on the temple grounds on March 21, the first day of the week-long annual Pongala festival of the temple.
